Perhaps now that I am not at a church on Sunday morning I may be able to take a Sunday afternoon, evening and Monday off to go to Halifax to get back in the vibe of the Spiritual Science Fellowship. The principles are something I really relate to, they are deep into the healing of the body, mind and spirit through therapeutic touch sessions before service, but also through distance healing, which I love and have gotten too far away from. The warmth and vibe of inclusion I believe would still the same at the services and the services are now held in a different place. Times and people have changed, but the teaching that started with Fred and Jeannine continues on in those they taught, (I consider Bonnie and therefore myself included in that) which is a true legacy. In sorting through some papers earlier today, I found some papers on the fellowship and it had things I have been wanting to share:
The Spiritual Science fellowship has no dogmas or creeds and welcomes persons from all traditions.
Our Foundations rest upon inights from the Modern Spiritualist Movement and Classical Yoga, as well as other ancient and modern traditions for the development of human potential, including Metaphysics and new Age thought.
1) We believe in Infinite, Creative, Universal Intelligence which we know as God...the highest Form of Love, Power and Wisdom.
2) We believe that the phenomena of Nature, both physical and spiritual, are expressions of this Infinite Intelligence.

10) We affirm that the doorway to reformation is never closed against any human soul here or hereafter. Divine grace is freely available to all - regardless of race, religion, or ideology. Te Divine plan includes transformation of consciousness into higher modes of expression on the planet earth, and in the worlds to come.

Fall Equinox

I haven't done that yet - I must get on that. As far things unfinished that must still be done - well, there's two HUGE things that I have back burnered for far too long that will totall come back to bite me in the behind very soon. I need to schedule in time to finish those big tasks and FAST!

Happy first day of fall!!
I think it's a great day, personally. While I hate to see the warm weather go away, I have to admit it went away early this year (Aug. 10th to be exact!) so, I think we're used to it by now.
It's also a great day, personally because it was the last service for me to permanently be organist and choir director for at the church. I came away with lots of goodies too thanks to the choirs - flowers and cards (handmade and otherwise) from the kids, and two sections of the Willow Tree Figurine Christmas Collection - The three wise men and the Nativity people. So, that's cool.
I'm beginning to like Christmas more than I usually do, but it's still a lot of work! I think this year we'll have to watch what/how much we put out with the cats enver been around christmas or trees or decorations before. Van thinks we shouldn't even bother with a tree, but we'll see.
So, I just have one more choir practice this Thursday night, One more wedding rehearsal on Friday night and one more wedding on Saturday to do.
I can do it. :)
Things around work the past week, week and a half have been bothing tiring and stressful. I haven't gotten more than a day off since we came back on the 3rd, and Van has been in the same boat until this weekend. There was a death in the family of the late week evening and weekend lead, which means that Van and I have had to cover many extra hours. We've also had a minimum of 2 people out per shift (4 people per day) and three of the people have had to go to the hospital this week (2 I sent there!) so, it's been a bit of time to say the least.
I just really need a day off, but that's a hope, wish and a prayer at this point.
I think that we'll be covering next weekend off as well (or at least, Van will as I have a wedding Saturday afternoon) as people are moving as is the weekend lead, and I'm not even sure she will be back this week as the service was just this afternoon for the family.
Anyhoos, I've got a bit of a slow time here at work today (at least for now), so I think I will try to put up a few posts about some of the more spiritual things going on/coming up :)

1 year
So, to celebrate successfully completing one year of marriage, Van and I decided to try to go back to PEI again and have a 're-do honeymoon' and see if we can go away wihtout me getting deathly ill.
It worked!
We had a great time over on the island doing the touristy things (Went to the Anne of Green Gables site and did the Gables tour, Haunted Woods walking tour, the Dunes at Cavendish, the World of Wax and Ripley's Believe it or not, Woodleigh Replicas and Kensington Water Gardens.
We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast and it was a great experience (well, minus the baby who screamed between 5 and 7am two nights in a row!) A nice place caller "Heritage Harbour House" decent prices and a great family.
We had booked the master suite (had a jacuzzi tub! wheeee!) and Van definitely had everything planned out and covered.
About 3 weeks before we were to go away we were up in Brunswick Square at English butler. They had Snowbabies on sale that were now retired. The snow babies were musically themed and while I liked them I refused to buy anything or spend that kind of money before we went away.
Van on the other hand went back there after we left , bought the things and then shipped them down to the inn for them to put out for when we arrived. He also had them get a dozen roses and have it set out for me as well as a frit basket.
yes, I have the most awesome, thoughtful, caring and considerate man! :)
We splurged and got tickets to the final performance of "Canada Rocks". I had no clue that Terry Hatty is a Saint Johner!
While standing in the lobby of the confederation center (Van was in the bathroom) I saw a man walk by and I thought my eyes were playin a game on me. I spoke outloud the man whom I thought it was name and there was no response.
I knew it was him however, so I tried again - "Mike? Michael?" and the fellow stopped, turned to me and goes "Yes, I'm Michael." and there was no recognition on his face at all.
So, I said, "Oh Mike, you don't remember me?" and he blinks and goes - "Of course I do Terri-Lynn! How the hell are you?!"
and off to the races went the conversation.
Mike and I were buds at the conservatory in Hfx. I taught his eldest son piano for a few years.
I moved back to SJ in July and the following March, the family got in a car accident on the airline outside of Bangor and Robbie was killed instantly. Mike was never the same since.
That was essentially the last time I had heard anything about him or his family, so it was nice to see him again. I always wondered how he made out after that.
it's been 5 years. Mike is still teaching at the conservatory and the youngest son is not so young anymore - a lanky 17 year old! :)
Anyway, Mike had played with all the "stars" involved in the show at one time or another, so he and his wife and son had come ovver for the last show to support his friends.
He got me caught up on some of the people from my past life, including Peggy - still no kids and never will :) I often wondered how she and her hubby were.
Just as I got a bit of a moment to tell him my news that I had gotten married (to which he stated - "OMG! So there really is someone for everyone!" bastard! hehehe) did Van come up beside me. :) So, Van and Mike got to meet. Don't know why, but that was a big thing to me. Weird.
Anyhoos, it's been a bit of a rough week. Trying to play catch up at work after a vacation is never any fun. But, it'll get better I'm sure.
