I didn't make any new years resolutions. I don't like them on principle, yet I find myself in a unique situation this new year.
This year we got royally dumped on with snow. In the past 2 days I have shovelled 4 times. Shovelled and scooped. I prefer scooping overall as you move more snow with that one effort, but it is more walking (as I like to make my ramps as far away from the space I need cleared as possible) and it's a bitch on my shoulders (I've been having shoulder problems since October.
Today is the first day back to work and I didn't get any new clothes for Christmas - a first. So I put on my old dark jeans and they are looser than I remembered. So, I decided to weigh myself this morning...down 3 lbs.
Now, 3 lbs isn't a lot in comparison to what I have on my body, but it's a start. Considering I did nothing different to my diet, this is just shovelling weight loss.
So, I've decided to take it and try to keep the ball rolling.
I had breakfast this morning (I hate breakfast) and I chose low salt oatmeal.
I'm having chicken and veggies with pasta for lunch, which I am going to try to have as my "big meal" of the day and then I'm taking carrot stix, an apple and 2 clementines for supper between students tonight @ Elain's.
I have also decided to cut back to 1 cup of orange pekoe tea per day. If I want tea other than that, I must have herbal tea.
When I get home tonight at 9pm, I will do some modified exercise as my left hip is killing me - like a pinched nerve.
Perhaps that will also help me sleep better as well.
Part of my game plan today will also be pre-planning the rest of my week's "big meals" to try to stay on this track.
While I didn't plan to do this, I'll take the jumpstart if I can get it!

So, I failed at the eating. Came home from work at 9pm and was HUNGRY and ended up having cream cheese, sour cream, salsa & shreeded cheeze dip (that was made 3 days ago and going bad, so I didn't finish it as I intended) and tostitos.
But, I did ball sit ups and will do wall push ups and wall sits before bed.
guess it's not a complete fail.
