I really have to get my butt in gear to get things done this last week of "vacation" before I start back in to everything full time January 3rd.
I have decided to take on a church full time. It's a different full time than other churches since there isn't a set choir or choir practice, but I sispect that they wil be looking for more from me than what they did with the previous fulltime organist as well as from me when I was simply splitting it with her.
Before the end of the year I need to complete the following:
1) review the baptist lecturn for the first quarter of 2010
2) pick out Festival music for students and prepare their entry forms
3) practice the accompaniments for the 2 voice students I am accompanying for their exams on January 18th as there are a couple of pieces that I am not playing acceptably
4) Re-arrange music closet
5) when re-arranging the closet, catalogue the music on the computer
6) pick out Broadway music for voice students for elaine's studio's Broadway show in April. I've never been involved in one of these shows, but it's the full meal deal including costuming and dance/movement and is scheduled for 1 week before festival! ACK!
While 6 things don't seem like a lot, all of those could/should take a week each. While I had technically 3 weeks off of teaching, I didn't do anything the first 2 weeks, so I really have to get my butt in gear this coming week. The reality is that I will be doing well if I get 1, 2 & 6 done only. I'll keep you posted!

Cross # 2 off the list. Done with the exception of musical theatre pieces because I have to confer with the head of the other studio. Don't have the entry forms done yet either, but I need to photocopy the entry forms and get the kids to fill them out with their particulars anyway, which I can't do until I get back to the studio with Elaine. Woot!
So in reality, I got nothing done the past month. I got pieces picked, but not filled out. I'll go in early tomorrow to Elain's to do that. I'm just a lazy arse.
