So, next week is shaping up to be a busy and exciting week!
I've been invited to be the accompanist for a week-long masterclass with Dr. Jessica McCormack that OperaNB is hosting for some teenaged vocalists. I'm excited! I've known jessica since she was just a young girl of 8 or 9 and to now see her with her doctorate in vocal performance and goign to be a prof at a college in Ohio is just amazing!! I am sure I will learn lots of things as her techniques are much more modern and new than what I learned 18+ years ago! The bonus is that I'm getting paid to participate and learn!! WOOT!
Then, Wednesday night I won`t be at the masterclass, but here at the house for an Open House of the Tea Room-Reading Room-Store from 5 - 8pm. Very excited to have people come in and look through the few things that I have available, but they can look through catalogues for other ideas of what I can bring in.
On Monday morning, we`re getting our new TV, Home Theatre System delivered and set up. Van is very excited as it means he`ll be able to see the TV again as we`re going larger and going to put it up (hopefully) on the wall. The home Theatre system I had gotten for cheap at Black Friday 2 years ago - or is it 3 years ago...either way, it bit the dust during the move. It started to act up before we moved - we`d have background sound, but the actual vocal sound wouldn`t work. Very annoying to try to watch a show when it sounds like they are all talking under water. So, it was cheap, but gave us the idea of whether we liked it or not and we did, so we`re going up for a bigger and better system - and wireless, which is exciting for us too!
Mom & I are going out to Home Depot to get a screen door this afternoon. Mom & Dad have generously offered to get us a screen door for the back door as a house warming gift, which is AWESOME!! Not sure when that will be installed, but I expect sometime next week as well.
There is soemthing else going on next week too, but I`m forgetting it at the moment, so I`ll have to come back and update again when I remember :)
It`s a big week coming up - we`ll be able to actually get the living room settled! Weeeeeeeee!!
